For Dentists

Dee Why Orthodontics has worked alongside Northern Beaches dentists for more than 30 years. We see that relationship as a genuine partnership. Your patients remain your patients. Our role is to provide specialist orthodontic assessment and treatment, keep you informed at every stage, and return your patients to your ongoing care.

Referring a patient

Referrals can be made using our online referral form, by phone on (02) 9982 1050, or by email to info@deewhyorthodontics.com.au. If your patient has recent records, photographs or radiographs, these are welcome and we are happy to review them ahead of the consultation.

A formal referral is not required for a patient to see us, but referred patients are always noted as yours, and you will receive correspondence from the first visit onward.

What to expect after you refer

Following the initial consultation, you will receive a written summary of our findings, the proposed treatment approach, and the reasoning behind it. Where treatment proceeds, we keep you updated at key stages, and we will always let you know when active treatment is complete. General dental care continues with you throughout orthodontic treatment, and we reinforce that with every patient.

Imaging and records

The practice has in-house low-dose CBCT, OPG and lateral cephalometric imaging, along with Trios intraoral scanners. Where you have taken recent radiographs, we use them rather than re-imaging wherever clinically appropriate.

Clinical Insights

Our Clinical Insights series looks at the reasoning behind orthodontic treatment planning, written for our dental colleagues. Topics include extraction and non-extraction planning, orthodontic care for periodontally susceptible patients, and treatment timing in the growing patient. New editions are also printed and posted to local practices.
